We recently wrapped up a large Community Engagement project we did for the Vermont Department of Health, in support of their development of the State Health Assessment and the State Health Improvement Plan. The State Health Improvement plan includes five-year goals and improvement strategies that reflect the collective efforts of the department and other state and community partners to promote health equity for all Vermonters. The State Health Assessment is the basis for developing the State Health Improvement Plan and represents what we know about the health of Vermonters at a point in time.
The work involved conducting a statewide environmental scan and several months of interviewing and qualitative analysis. 351 participants in 45 focus groups, 40 key informants, and 16 additional participants shared their thoughts on the health needs of Vermonters, the drivers of health problems, health impacts, and potential strategies for addressing these needs.
The results were just posted on the VDH website. There are data briefs we put together at the top and our results report was repackaged to provide data on several different communities and health needs below that. This was a great team effort.
