Research has shown that retention of youth in treatment increases dramatically when a family intervention is provided (Henggler et al., 1991; Liddle & Dakof, 1995).  The Family Support Network (FSN) intervention is volume 3 of the Cannabis Youth Treatment (CYT) series.  The FSN builds on the first two volumes of the CYT series by incorporating family sessions focused on engaging caregivers in their youth’s treatment process and improving caregivers’ knowledge and skills in supporting their youth’s recovery.  The FSN approach can be paired with any adolescent treatment model and is comprised of the following unique components: case management, parent education groups, and family therapy sessions.
