Motivational enhancement therapy and cognitive behavior therapy are two evidence-based approaches that have been successfully utilized to address substance use and co-occurring problems among youth and adults. More specifically, C4BHI has national expert trainers available to support training and implementation of the Cannabis Youth Treatment Series, Volumes 1 and 2: Motivational Enhancement Therapy/Cognitive Behavior Therapy (MET/CBT) and SAMHSA’s Integrated Change Therapy for Substance Abuse and Co-Occurring Disorders. These patient-centered treatments draw essential elements from evidence-based practices including motivational interviewing (MI), motivational enhancement therapy (MET), functional analysis, and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). C4BHI is available to provide training in use of these models and implementation resources can be found below.
