Environmental Scan for VDH

C4BHI was asked by the Vermont Department of Health (VDH) to conduct an Environmental Scan as part of VDH’s development of their new State Health Assessment. An Environmental Scan involves reviewing all publicly available data to answer broad public health questions. In this case the question was, “What are the most important health needs of Vermonters?” VDH was not only interested in a statewide understanding of health needs, they also wanted to know the health needs of Vermonters with higher rates of health disparities than the general population. In Vermont, that includes Vermonters of color, people with disabilities, older Vermonters, Indigenous Peoples living in Vermont, LGBTQ+ Vermonters, and unhoused Vermonters.
