The VT YSBIRT team worked with our 4 college implementation sites to collaborate on a presentation of findings from the past year. The presentation titled – Engaging Young Adults into Wellness Screening & Interventions: A New Era for SBIRT was accepted for the national SBIRT summit held in Burlington Vermont in mid-August. The presentation included the lessons learned and successful outcomes of decoupling SBIRT from the health setting and engaging young adults in universal screens and interventions when needed.
The presentation is uploaded here and illustrates four projects within the college implementation
a) factors influential to the decoupling process
b) a college interventionist
c) easing access to treatment for BIPOC & Latinx populations
d) using a smartphone contingency management app to lower the risk of alcohol, cannabis, and nicotine
