Pediatric Mental Health Care Access

C4BHI is the external evaluator on HRSA’s Pediatric Mental Health Care Access grant. In partnership with the State of Vermont Department of Mental Health, Vermont Department of Health, Community Health Centers, and Vermont Child Health Improvement Program, the grant started the Child Psychiatry Access Program (CPAP).

The CPAP provides consultation services for Vermont Primary Care Providers who need help caring for pediatric patients with mental health concerns. Providers can call the phone number to be connected to a psychiatrist who can help them with diagnosing, treating, and finding community resources for patients. C4BHI supports the partners by gathering data to inform program development and grant reporting requirements. As of February 28, 2023, 102 clinics have enrolled in the CPAP program and 319 consultations have been completed.

Here is an article in Vt digger describing this effort.
